This works too...
If you are going to go for the whole staged extravaganza, you might as well really go for it, you know?

Coupledom
Every once in a while, My Man and I experience a sense of amazement that one day we met and then we just started hanging out together every day after. I know the biological, emotional and evolutional reasons for coupling, but they really can't describe the connection, that you just want to be with that person. It feels so comfortable, and sometimes I can't really remember what it was like before. Then, every once in a while, I'll remember that this thing is new, that we found each other and choose to hang out forever, and it's wonderful, and so completely crazy at the same time.
Simple Perfection
I need to constantly remind myself that I fell in love with the cabin because of it's rustic charm and imperfections. I didn't want a cookie-cutter condo, I wanted authenticity. I'm in the middle of planning a small reno (gotta get the squirrels out of the walls, you know, the basics) and I find myself tempted to fix this and that thing and I forget the beauty in simplicity.

Eyes Wide Open
They say the windows are the eyes of a home, which is just another reason to go for the biggest windows possible, especially if you are surrounded by beautiful green foliage. I want to live in this home.

Taking it outside
Having an indoor wedding has never really seemed like an option to me. Being surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors is just something that seems absolutely necessary for such an important moment. The flowers and decorations look more at home outside than in a stuffy hall, people seem more relaxed, the lighting is more flattering...it's just the way to go.
An added plus is that you can spend most of the night barefoot, with your toes in the grass instead of all over some grimey floor. I'm always happier barefoot.

Therapy of the Retail Variety
Love this military-looking first aid kit from DWR. This is definitely an item you want to get a reproduction of and not the real thing second hand (vintage band-aids anyone?).
Therapy
Spent the weekend at the cabin...Every time we go up there we reset ourselves and come back more settled, more calm. We beat ourselves up playing in the mountains and the lake, yet feel like we just got back from the best spa ever, slightly sunburned and totally exhausted.

Weeeeekend!
It's been a long, hot week and I am SO excited to go to the mountains this weekend. Hopefully we will do a little mountain biking and a little swimming in the lake.

Tree Houses for Grownups
I want to know who decided that at a certain age Tree Houses are no longer a respected place to spend your time. Did you have a tree house? Do you remember how it felt to be perched up in the branches, how it changed the whole perspective of your backyard and made you feel big and powerful and very sneaky at the same time?
Baumraum and La Cabane Perchee are two companies currently designing beautiful tree houses for grown ups. Sadly, they are not in the U.S. (of course), but they can still provide us with great inspiration.

Love and Livestock
I'm not really sure what one has to do with the other, but have you been noticing the sea of livestock in the wedding blogosphere lately? My Man and I have this dream to one day become pigmy goat farmers, and all of these baby goats are just killing me...

A little bit country...
Okay, so I never really pinned myself as a "french country" sort of girl (I prefer "modern rustic" thank you very much), but this bouquet straight from Country Living Magazine has been consuming my thoughts for some time. I think I just love the mess, the wild nature of it. It really looks like it was just plucked from the garden to be carried down the aisle.

Kind of love it...
Too much? I think not. Okay maybe a little wood-nymphy, but for the right bride and the right wedding this would be so stunning.

Honeymoon
Wouldn't this make for the most amazing honeymoon? We have tossed around the idea of road-tripping around the Southwest for a recession friendly honeymoon. Doing it in an airstream would make the trip so much cooler.

Love it...
Love the use of vintage paper on this table, and the restrained color palette. Is it just me or is black the accent color of the year?
